Artist ... Retired Musician .. Maybe not completely Retired Check out the Celtic Harp page .My life has been a continuous journey along "the road less traveled." Why take the highway through life when the scenic route offers so much more? I've always ventured beyond the conventional boundaries. I began as a weaver, then a glassblower, and later, a tipi maker. Unexpectedly, I stumbled into the world of music. I took my first harp lesson on my 30th birthday and spent the next two decades touring and playing the Celtic harp, producing 15 recordings, both under labels and independently. I toured extensively and taught Celtic harp as well. When that chapter naturally concluded, I returned to my roots in fiber art and quilting. Initially, my work had a charming, naïve style, but it has since evolved into more realistic expressions. Now, nearly 70 years old, I find myself tuning my harp between sewing sessions, painting, and creating. It's worth noting that I was born with only one arm, defying the expectations of my elders and the path they envisioned for me. My muse has led me down extraordinary roads, and for that, I am profoundly grateful. Hi, This is Mary .. I'm a quilter, a painter and a doggy mom. My hubby Donald Harry Robert’s is a writer and a graphic artist and together we live in a beautiful setting that inspires us to create and play music. . I made my living as a musician for decades but now I spend much of my time doing mixed media art with lots of fibre art creations. In the spring of 2022 I embarked on a whole new chapter. I rented a studio/gallery/shop at the Harbour Centre in Gore Bay. After almost two wonderful years of meeting new people and selling from the Harbour Centre ... I closed up shop there due to a move to Elliot Lake. I'll still be creating and selling online. Come visit my "items for sale" page often to see the newest creations. I specialize in creating beautiful memories .. People specially love my Pet Portraits. They have a whole page here on my web site. See my various pages to get an idea of what I love to create. TThis piece called Dancing for Joy in the Wind sold last summer 2024 at the Perivale Gallery where I was a guest Artist In the Spirit of Tom Thomson & The Group of Seven
